The minutes of your life are more important than the years. If you do not fill these minutes with thoughts of God, the years will slip by, and when you need Him most, you may not be able to feel His presence. But if you fill the minutes of your life with actively striving for God, you will find the years automatically enveloped in the consciousness of the Divine Being.
Only he who has overcome maya, and achieved oneness with God is worthy to be held before mankind’s gaze as a supreme example. And even among liberated beings who return to earth as saviours, few are assigned a role that might rightfully be termed that of a world teacher.
The person of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yoganandaji fulfilled all the requirements of such a perfect being, and the teaching that has been given to the world through him stands unique in the annals of scripture and religious science. Though lofty in purpose, it is practical in its method. Though profound and all-encompassing in its philosophy, it is simple in its application to daily life. The universality of Paramahansa Yoganandaji’s teachings is such that followers of all religions, of east and west, find in it the embodiment of their own highest ideals, and the means to realize more fully their individual spiritual goals. …
